Case Study
High-End Coffee Machine for Global Brand.
Create delicious drinks from smooth coffees, to rich coffees, refreshing herbal tea and also drinks from top brands including Yorkshire Tea, Galaxy and Taylors.
The project consisted of 32 production injection mould tools which were built in 5 weeks.
The front fascia was produced using innovative in-mould cropping mechanism to mitigate weld lines that would have been caused using traditional methods. This, along with other components was painted and hard-coated with scratch resistant paint.
Parts were supplied to contract manufacturer where mechanical and electronic elements were assembled with the mouldings.
Tools were built in 8 weeks from release of order.
Materials used were to European/US standard and UL94 rated with yellow card certification in addition to various other quality standards.
Initial requirement was for 1,500 sets of parts per month however aggressive ramp-up took output to 4,000 sets per month after the first batch. Parts produced: 32,000 sets in year 1.
